My First Blog About Starting A Home Business Blog

Starting a home based busness in Indiana.  What was I thinking?  Indiana, the Hoosier State.  Lots of forests and cornfields in Indiana.  The Colts and the Pacers are in Indiana.  My home is in Indiana.  Evansville to be exact.  Down on the southern tip of the state.  About 150,000 people in and around the city, and just a hop, skip, and jump from the Kentucky border.

It is here that I decided to start my home based business.  My business is actually an Internet business so I could have started it anywhere that has an Internet connection.  The flexablity and benefits of an online home based business

First of all let me tell you WHY I decided  to start a home business.  Well I am a baby boomer and I will like to retire in a couple of years.  I can’t rely on our badly managed social security system.  My 401k and pension plans,  as we have all experienced may or may not be reliable down the road.  Now I don’t know about you but when I retire, I would like to maintain my current lifestyle, not half of it.  I don’t want my children having the burden of taking care of me financially because I couldn’t afford too.  Having the capability to earn a steady income after I retire will give me a little peace of mind today.

Starting a home based business can be fun, profitable and frustrating, all at the same time.  In my next post I am going to talk about why I decided to start a blog to help individuals like yourself get started the right way in a home based business.  Statistics tell us that 97% of the people starting home businesses every year make little or no money in their efforts.  This blog is going  to be designed  to help those individuals who want to fall into that 3% who succeed in their home based business beyond their wildest dreams.  Until next time, God Bless.
